Susi's Station Notes: Community Cinema Presents "Powerbroker"

Feb 8, 2013

Willard Walker

On Wednesday, February 13, we have a great treat in store here at WKAR. As part of our ongoing Community Cinema series of screenings and  discussions we will welcome Willard K. Walker, Tremaine Philips and Renee Canady to lend their insight onto the civil rights issues presented in The Powerbroker: Whitney Young's Fight for Civil Rights.

Tremaine Phillips

The documentary is very powerful but the experience and insight our panel brings to the topic will be significant and one well worth attending.

One of the things I love most about our Community Cinema events is that they directly connect us here at WKAR with you, our viewers and listeners. We enjoy seeing you for refreshments prior to the event, listening to your questions and comments and hearing your feedback afterwards. You help us know that we are on the right track and that the content we are providing from WKAR is valuable, whether it is a program you view on television or online or something special like this that brings key issues into focus in a more intimate way.

Renee Canady

I look forward to seeing you there on Wednesday. And if you haven't registered yet, you can do so RIGHT HERE. (link)
