Susi's Station Notes: Amazing Michigan Women!

Feb 15, 2013

Next week on February 21, we hope you will attend our next Evening at WKAR event, featuring a preview of the documentary Makers: The Women Who Make America and a talk from Two Men and a Truck founder Mary Ellen Sheets. (REGISTER HERE)

The documentary features some amazing women and their trailblazing stories. They range from political figures like Hillary Clinton to media personalities like Oprah Winfrey, along with a number of women unknown to the general public who have made a significant impact on others.

Our speaker, Mary Ellen Sheets, is just as powerful. Her business started with a $350 investment in the 1980s and is now worldwide. She also brings to the table a profound sense of social responsibility.

Makers started as an online project you can check out their website HERE for some fascinating profiles!  The three-hour program will air February 26.

We want to continue this celebration of amazing women with some of our own "Michigan Makers" in broadcast profiles of women who have made a difference in our state. They may be leaders in education, sports, politics or business, but all have made a difference in our community.

If you have suggestions of notable women who have made a difference, please send a short email highlighting their accomplishments and contact information to

And don't forget to SIGN UP for the preview!
