Governor Rick Snyder is off on a trade mission that will bring him to Asia and Europe before he returns to Michigan next week.
Governor Snyder will start in Japan, where he will participate in a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of Michigan’s sister-state relationship with the Shiga Prefecture. He will also make a presentation at meeting of the US Midwest-Japan Association in Tokyo on Monday.
From there, Snyder will head to Germany and the Frankfurt Auto Show, the largest such display of new cars, trucks and motorcycles in the world. He will also meet with German auto industry leaders n an effort to forge connections with Michigan manufacturers.
This is the governor’s sixth official visit to Germany, and his fourth to Japan.
