The Democratic and Republican candidates for governor are making stops around Michigan Friday to drum up support before the election next Tuesday.

Republican candidate Rick Snyder was in Detroit. He received the endorsement of several Detroit pastors.

"Hopefully you can see by the people turning out today, it's not just about talking about things, it's about bringing an attitude of action," he said. "And action that makes a difference in real people's lives. And to do that there's one other thing I always ask of people, and that's to recognize that it's time for a new culture in our state."

Bernero also touts the endorsement of many Detroit clergy members. He made stops at factories and auto plants Friday as he prepares for weekend rallies.

Snyder is expected to appear at a rally with the rest of the Republican ticket Friday in Oakland County.
