Democrat Virg Bernero will face Republican Rick Snyder for the governor's office this November. Tim Walberg will stage a re-match against incumbent Congressman Mark Schauer.

Virg Bernero will square off against Republican Rick Snyder this November for the chance to become Michigan's next governor. U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, who was in second place for much of the evening, has conceded to Snyder.

House Speaker Andy Dillon has conceded his bid for the Democratic nomination to Bernero. In his concession speech, Dillon called for unity.

"Hey, let's have a great general election on the issues, on who's got the best vision for this state, who can provide the best leadership," Dillon said. "But let's stop all the negative campaigning and all the pettiness that has nothing to do with the future of our state."

In a replay of 2008, Republican Tim Walberg will face Democrat Mark Schauer.

In the 71st House district, Republican Deb Shaugnessy beat her GOP rivals.

In the 67th district, GOP candidate Jeff Oesterle won. In the 69th, Meridian Township supervisor Susan McGillicuddy won over challenger Frank Lambert.

Both CATA millages were approved by significant margins.
