A second woman has been arraigned in connection with the death of an 11-month-old girl who drowned in standing water and sewage after falling through a hole in an upstairs floor and into a basement.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says 28-year-old Tonya Peterson appeared Wednesday in 36th District Court on manslaughter and child abuse charges.

Ca'Mya Davis was unattended July 6 when she fell through the hole in her home's bedroom floor. The medical examiner ruled her death accidental.

Prosecutors say 26-year-old Dasiah Jordan allegedly left her daughter with Peterson while she visited friends and that both women were aware of the "hazardous and unsafe condition in the bedroom."

Jordan was arraigned Tuesday on manslaughter and child abuse charges.

Court records did not list attorneys for the women.
