Rexrode revisits Spartan penalties, playcalling in ND loss

After Saturday's loss at Notre Dame, MSU football coach Mark Dantonio's Spartans have a week off before their next game, Oct. 5 at Iowa.

Penalties against the MSU defense were a big factor in the 17-13 loss at Notre Dame on Saturday. The coaching staff is also facing questions about the decision to replace starting quarterback Connor Cook late in the game.

Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press says he isn't sure the Spartans will change the way they play defense because of the penalties.
