Quran burning suspect surrenders

By Scott Pohl, WKAR News

East Lansing, MI –

East Lansing police say a person surrendered today in connection with the recent desecration of a copy of the Quran at the Islamic Center.

A $10,000 reward was recently offered for tips on the case, but none of the money was paid out. Police say the individual is cooperating with investigators, who say they have determined that it was an isolated incident.

Officials expect to conclude their investigation early next week, and the case will then be sent to the Ingham County Prosecutor.

On Saturday, the burned Quran was found at the entrance to the Islamic Center of East Lansing.
