State lawmakers are entering the final hours of their two-year session without having reached a deal to boost road funding.

Legislative leaders and Governor Rick Snyder have been meeting for hours in recent days to try to find an agreement. Democrats stormed out of the most recent meeting while refusing to speak with reporters.
State Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville seemed to have a more positive view of the talks.
“If I had to take the over-and-under, I’d say I’d take the over – that we’d get something done,” he says.
Governor Rick Snyder wants lawmakers to boost road funding by more than a billion dollars a year. Some Republicans don’t want to raise taxes to do that.
