Prima Civitas taps Bennett as new ED

By Mark Bashore, WKAR News

LANSING, MI – A Lansing-based economic development organization has announced a permanent replacement for its outgoing Executive Director.

Prima Civitas said Monday that 26-year old Steven Bennett will take over from founding Executive Director Dennis Sykes. Among other initiatives, Bennett says the foundation will continue work on a project involving Michigan State University.

"...Trying to work with College of Engineering students who have intellectual property they can commercialize and in which, the region can feel economic impact," Bennett says.

Bennett has been serving as the group's acting Executive Director since February. Prima Civitas is also searching for a replacement for President and CEO, David Hollister. The former Lansing Mayor will end day-to-day responsibilities with the organization next March.
