Kathy Hoekstra (left) and Susan Demas have launched the Two Chicks Speakers Bureau.

Their politics are different, but they’re uniting to move the state’s political discourse forward. We talk with Susan Demas and Kathy Hoekstra about their new Two Chicks Speakers Bureau.

How many times have you wished that America’s political discourse was more civil? It seems that the county has descended into name-calling and finger-pointing, and that much of the conversation never rises about that any more.

Two of Michigan’s leading political analysts are uniting to try to do something about that.

Kathy Hoekstra is owner of Kathy Hoekstra Communications. She’s a conservative with a background working for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the presidential campaign of Herman Cain.

Susan Demas is the publisher of Inside Michigan Politics. She has a liberal perspective.

Together, they’re forming the Two Chicks Speakers Bureau. They’ve begun to seek out joint speaking engagements to discuss the political issues of the day, where they can “disagree without being disagreeable.”

Current State talks with Susan Demas and Kathy Hoekstra about their venture and the presidential campaign.
