Lansing, MI – Old Town Lansing continues to expand. The community is welcoming 13 new businesses to the neighborhood. The area just north of downtown has been in transition for years. The once-neglected buildings are filling up with art galleries, shops, and restaurants.

Summer Schriner is pleased that businesses can thrive in Old Town, even during an economic downturn. She opened Grace, a boutique for women, three years ago, "In light of how Lansing has been struggling in the last few years, people have definitely made an effort to support local businesses. We've been really lucky that people are recognizing we have to support our own community. We have to keep money here and keep business here."

Ribbon cuttings were held for the 13 businesses that started up or relocated here during the past year. They include three restaurants, an antique shop, a law firm and a regional office for the Girl Scouts.
