Pianist Derek Polischuk and soprano Melanie Helton of the MSU College of Music Artist-Faculty program

The first of this year’s MSU College of Music faculty recitals happens on Wednesday. We learn why soprano Melanie Helton has called her performance “Lover’s Lullaby: A Evening of Excruciatingly Bad Songs.”

The start of the MSU school year also means the start of plenty of College of Music recitals. Current State’s Jamie Paisley speaks with professor Melanie Helton about hers tomorrow night, which will be the first faculty recital of the year.

Professor Helton’s program has a rather unusual theme: "Excruciatingly Bad Songs.”
