EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State coach Tom Izzo indicates he's still undecided about the Cleveland Cavaliers by responding "still gathering" in a text message to The Associated Press.
The Cavaliers have been wooing Izzo for at least a week to coach their team and perhaps LeBron James.
Asked Sunday if he was still undecided, Izzo simply responded: "still gathering."
Izzo spent several hours in Cleveland with team officials on Thursday. Izzo told reporters that night at the Lansing, Mich., airport that the situation wouldn't go on forever.
If Izzo turns down the Cavs, they might intensify talks with Byron Scott. If Izzo leaves the Spartans, they may hire one of his former assistants, such as Dayton's Brian Gregory.
