The new Michigan State University Grand Rapids Research Center was dedicated today in a ceremony that included U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
The DeVos appearance at the ribbon cutting drew a small crowd of protestors who feel the Secretary is a foe of public education in America. The protestors outside could be heard while DeVos spoke.
The $88-million dollar MSU College of Human Medicine research facility was funded in part with a $10-million contribution from DeVos’s in-laws, Richard and Helen DeVos.
The building will be open for public tours on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
