More Weekend Patrols In Light Of Shooting Spree
Authorities investigating a shooting spree along the Interstate 96 corridor plan to boost patrols Saturday as fans travel to a Michigan State football game.
There have been 24 shootings and one injury reported since Oct. 16. Shootings have occurred in Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee and Ingham counties. Roads are saturated around the clock with marked and undercover police vehicles. Police put together a sketch of a possible suspect.
At least one western Michigan school district plans to avoid I-96 Saturday when students travel to Detroit for a band competition. Grandville Superintendent Ron Caniff says he'll "literally ... take the extra mile."
