One of the recent stories out of Lansing is legislation from Sen. Rick Jones (R-Grand Ledge) that would rework the State Court of Claims, duties currently handled by the Ingham County Circuit Court.

Events in Detroit have dominated a lot of Michigan news in October, most noticeably the city’s bankruptcy trial.  That has not been enough however to overshadow the race for mayor and city council in Detroit.

To review and update those and several more of October’s biggest Michigan news stories is Tim Skubick, the host of “Off the Record” seen on WKAR-TV and online.  Also, Susan J. Demas, the new owner of the Inside Michigan Politics newsletter, and John Lindstrom of Gongwer News.
