Michigan St. women top Ohio State in OT

COLUMBUS, OH – Brittney Thomas scored 19 points, including a basket to trigger an 8-0 run and two clinching free throws in overtime, to lead Michigan State to a 71-68 victory over
No. 7 Ohio State on Sunday.

After Ohio State (26-4, 14-3 Big Ten) cut the lead to a point on Samantha Prahalis' 3-pointer, Thomas hit two foul shots with 15.3 seconds left.

Sarah Schulze's 3-point attempt with 2 seconds left was short and off the mark.

Lykendra Johnson added 14 points and Kalisha Keane 10 for the Spartans (19-8, 10-6), who have won four in a row and eight of nine.

Jantel Lavender had 24 points and 11 rebounds, Prahalis 17 points and Schulze nine points and 10 rebounds for the Buckeyes, who had already clinched an outright Big Ten title and the top seed in the conference tournament.
