‘Michigan Calling’ Series Kicks Off with Mark Schauer

Friday, July 11, at 9am on 90.5 FM and LIVE VIDEO WEBCAST. | Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer takes questions from a  statewide public radio audience.

It will be the  premiere broadcast of “Michigan Calling” in the 2014 election cycle.

“This is a chance for the general public to engage directly with candidates

and ask the questions they want to ask,” said Karole White, executive director of the Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters. “It’s a vital service to voters that we are pleased to provide.”

The hour-long program will be hosted by Rick Pluta, the long-time state Capitol bureau chief of the Michigan Public Radio Network.

U.S. Senate candidates Gary Peters (D) and Terry Lynn Land (R) have agreed to appear on “Michigan Calling” as well, with dates to be determined. An invitation has also been extended to Gov. Rick Snyder, the Republican candidate who is seeking reelection.
