Michigan Calling: The Senate Race

Last week, Michigan citizens had the opportunity to question U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D) on "Michigan Calling," a radio special airing on 90.5 WKAR.

This week, her challenger, former Representative Pete Hoekstra (R), will respond to listener questions during a "Michigan Calling" special on Friday, October 26, at 9 a.m.

The live call-in program will feature reporter Rick Pluta, MPRN state Capitol bureau chief, in a one-on-one with each of the candidates.

Listeners from throughout the state will be able to call in their questions at 866-255-2762. Questions will also be taken via Facebook, Twitter and email. Listeners can send a message to the Facebook page “Michigan Calling.” Tweet at @MichiganCalling. The e-mail address is MichiganCalling@gmail.com.

"Michigan Calling" is a chance for citizens to question the candidates on the issues relevant to this year’s election. The shows will be a statewide “town hall” format, airing in every broadcast market in Michigan.

“Michigan Calling” is a continuing project of public broadcasters to connect their audience with political leaders and candidates. The live radio programs are produced by Michigan Radio in Ann Arbor and are a joint production of Michigan Radio (WUOM 91.7 Ann Arbor/Detroit, WFUM 91.1 Flint, WVGR 104.1 Grand Rapids) and the Michigan Public Radio Network.
