Michigan’s unemployment rate rose in August. The state’s jobless rate rose four tenths of one percent last month to nearly 9.5%.
It’s the fourth straight monthly increase in Michigan’s unemployment rate. The state’s jobless rate is at its highest point since November of last year.
Manufacturing took the biggest drop in August, with 8,000 fewer jobs than in the month before.
Overall, there were 18,000 fewer jobs in Michigan in August than there were the month before.
