All week on "Morning Edition with Brooke Allen" we are hearing the viewpoints of different issues from Lansing mayoral candidates Judi Brown Clarke and Andy Schor. Their interviews were taped separately and about a week apart. Tuesday's topic is city council divisiveness.
While Brown Clarke, who is currently on council, said open meetings are perceived as "bickering" but its really council members being passionate for their constituency. Meanwhile State Rep. Schor said he work with the entire council to bring them together.
Both are Democrats. They want to replace Virg Benero who is leaving office after 12 years.
The Lansing mayoral race will be decided on the November 7 election.
