LPD investigates eastside shooting, crash

By Mark Bashore, WKAR

LANSING, MI –

Lansing police are investigating an early afternoon shooting on the city's east side. Police say the victim was shot near Lathrop and Walsh streets and later crashed into a parked car in front of Eastern High School. The shooting victim and people in the parked car were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are not known. Lansing school officials imposed, and later cancelled, a "code yellow" alert that kept students confined to their classrooms as a precaution. A school district spokesman says the incident did not involve students or school personnel.
