LCC tables BoarsHead alliance

By Scott Pohl, WKAR News

LANSING, MI – The Lansing Community College Board of Trustees last night tabled a proposal that would rescue BoarsHead Theater from the financial trouble that led to the theater's closing in December.

The plan would move BoarsHead to LCC facilities, with an understanding that the theater would cooperate with the school on scheduling plays. LCC students would work with the professional theater company.

The proposal was tabled because Trustees Jerry Hollister and Tom Rasmusson were absent. In addition, Trustee Larry Meyer would have to recuse himself from any vote on an alliance with BoarsHead, because he is president of BoarsHead's Board of Directors.

It's expected that the LCC board will consider the plan next month.
