Lansing Community College President Brent Knight says the school will roll out a unique job guarantee program soon.
AUDIO:
Knight announced the initiative Thursday morning in his annual 'State of the College' address. He says the "Get A Skill, Get A Job or Get Your Money Back" program will focus on four promising job fields. A signed "learning contract" will impose conditions on participants and on the college.
"They'll need to prepare themselves to get a job, how to write a letter, how to interview," he explains. "We will help the students get a job, they will help themselves. It gives people a chance at a job who presently may not have hope."
Only applicants with the highest probability of success will be accepted into the program. Knight says the school will make a formal announcement in a few weeks.
