LCC actor brings rich pedigree to "A Room With A View"

Scott Pohl/WKAR

A young actor with deep theatrical roots is starting to get noticed in Lansing. Michael Boxleitner has only been a student at Lansing Community College for a few months, but he’s already had one lead role at LCC, and he has another this weekend and next in "A Room With A View".He’s from an acting family: his father, Bruce Boxleitner, starred in the TV series “The Scarecrow and Mrs. King” and “Babylon 5”; his mother is Melissa Gilbert, who everybody knows from “Little House on the Prarie”; and his stepfather is East Lansing native Timothy Busfield of “thirtysomething” and “The West Wing” fame.

Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with Michael Boxleitner about moving to Michigan from Los Angeles and his roles at LCC.

Scott Pohl is a general assignment news reporter and produces news features and interviews. He is also an alternate local host on NPR's "Morning Edition."
