LANSING, MI – The Lansing School District says H1N1 flu vaccinations for students will begin Monday, November 2.

AUDIO:

The Ingham County Health Department will conduct several clinics throughout the district through November 12. Lansing School District spokesperson Steve Serkaian says parents of younger children in particular need to be involved.

"Parents of elementary school students must fill out the consent form and accompany their children to one of two clinics to be held at Pattengill Middle School on the south side or Hill Career Academy on the north side," Serkaian says.

Serkaian says parents of middle and high school students must submit a signed parental consent form a week prior to the clinic date at their schools. Those parents will not need to accompany their children to the clinic. The program is voluntary, but health officials hope all Ingham County students get vaccinated for the disease.
