Lansing City Council rejects Gillespie projects again

By Anthony Pollreisz, WKAR

Lansing, MI – The Lansing City Council again failed to move forward on tax incentives for a pair of redevelopment projects.

The Gillespie Group wants an expanded tax incentive package for its Marketplace and Marshall Street Armory developments.

Lansing Mayor Virg Benero's Chief of Staff Jerry Ambrose says the administration will continue negotiation to move the projects forward.

"It's unfortunate there's not an agreement," Ambrose said. "If there were to be an agreement, I think we would work hard to figure out how to make it happen."

The council could revisit the Gillespie redevelopment projects again next week.
