LANSING, MI – A Michigan Historical Marker for Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing will be dedicated this week.
A ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday. It's part of a yearlong celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lansing's incorporation as a city.
The cemetery opened in 1874 and is the final resting place of many Lansing-area leaders in business, civic life and culture.
Lansing was officially designated as the state's capital in 1847, before its 1859 incorporation.
