Interim Lansing Police Chief announced

LANSING, MI –

Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero has announced an interim police chief to replace the departing Mark Alley. Lansing police Captain Teresa Szymanski's first day as temporary chief will be March 13. She says she intends to apply for the position long term. The 22-year Lansing police veteran runs the LPD's South Precinct. The city is conducting a nationwide search for Alley's replacement.
