Ingham Land Bank marks move into commercial transactions

By Mark Bashore, WKAR News

LANSING, MI –
The Ingham County Land Bank is continuing its expansion into commercial real estate in Lansing's Old Town. Land Bank officials and the new owners of Old Town Manor gathered Thursday afternoon at the renovated, century-old home on North Pine Street. The Land Bank purchased and remodeled the structure...and assisted with financing for the new owners. Ingham County Land Bank Chairman Eric Schertzing:

"We really hope to wrap our arms around this whole entire area and give it a unifed identity so that that vibrancy that already exists in the history Old Town/ downtown area neighborhood will spread out into the neighborhood," he says.

Old Town Manor was the first property renovated by the agency to become a commercial business. Rizzi Designs---a marketing and special events firm---is moving into the 6,000 square foot structure on the site of the old Michigan School for the Blind.
