Annie's Ghosts

Monday, Jan. 27 at 3pm - MSU Campus |  A Great Michigan Read conversation about memoir writing, with Annie's Ghosts author Steve Luxenberg.

Decoding The Mysteries Of Memoir
Monday, January 27 - 3 PM

MSU faculty memoirists Marcia Aldrich and Lev Raphael join Steve Luxenberg of the Washington Post to explore one of America's most popular genres: the memoir.

Decoding the Mysteries of Memoir

What are the sources of its ever-growing audience? What makes it unique and what makes it problematic? Why do so many readers prefer it to contemporary fiction—what are they looking for?

What do authors of memoirs owe their audience, and what do they owe to their subjects? And finally, what are the particular challenges, pitfalls, rewards, and responsibilities of the memoir writer?

This is a free event.
