Governor Calls for Reforms

By Kevin Lavery, WKAR

Lansing, MI – The governor wants to enact a statewide health care plan that calls for a 20 percent employee premium share for new hires. It would be modeled after a plan ratified in December by the Service Employees International Union. Unionized corrections workers are considering a similar agreement. The governor says the plan is comparable to what's offered in the private sector.
The plan would affect public employees hired after April 1st.
