Friday, November 10 at 6:30pm at the Communication Arts and Sciences Building, Studio A | Join WKAR for our final event in the Vietnam series: a special edition of Pop-Up Stories to honor our veterans.
Hear personal stories from veterans who have experienced war firsthand, and those that are still feeling the effects to this day. The theme is "stories from the front lines," and any veteran, or friend or family member of a veteran, is welcome to tell a personal story.
Stories should be around 5 minutes long and should be true, firsthand accounts. They will be recorded for possible use on the air, with permission, and should be family and FCC friendly.
The evening will be hosted by WKAR Morning Edition Host Brooke Allen.
If you are not a veteran with a story to share, please come enjoy yourself as an audience member. If you want to sign up to tell a story, or request additional information or assistance for persons with disabilities, please email Katie Cook at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This special edition of Pop-Up Stories is in partnership with the Lansing State Journal. Pop-Up Stories is free to the public, and is a collaboration between WKAR - Public Media from Michigan State University, MSU Residential College in the Arts and Humanities, and community partners.
Pop-Up Stories will take place in WKAR TV's Studio A , 404 Wilson Road on the campus of Michigan State University. Parking is free (after 6 p.m.) in the Trowbridge Road parking ramp, near the South, Main Lobby.
