By Rob South, WKAR Radio News
East Lansing, MI – Rob South, WKAR Radio News
National and local officials are warning homeowners that foreclosure fraud is increasingly becoming a problem in the state.
The Federal government offers free help to homeowners facing foreclosure.
It says people should not to pay for help dealing with lenders.
Ingham County Registrar of Deeds Curtis Hertel, Jr. says only government agencies and non-profits are equipped to help homeowners facing foreclosure.
Hertel says there were more than 500 foreclosures in the county last year.
