EMU board OKs freeze on tuition, fees, dorm rates

By AP

YPSILANTI, MI –

Eastern Michigan University regents have decided to freeze tuition, dorm and fee rates at the Ypsilanti school for the coming academic year.

The board voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt President Susan Martin's proposal.

Martin told the regents the move may be a risk "to our bottom line and our credit" but is the right step during the economic crisis.

Martin told the regents that economic conditions that students face are the worst she can recall.
