With less than a minute to play and Holt driving inside the East Lansing 20-yard line, Darryck Walker sealed the 14-9 win for East Lansing with his second interception of the night.

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- It's just like the scenario we all drew up playing backyard football as a kid. The chance to take your team on a game-winning drive in the closing minutes. That's exactly what David-Michael Peterson and the Holt Rams had the chance to do until Darryck Walker had other ideas. With less than a minute to play and Holt driving inside the Trojan 20-yard line, Walker sealed the 14-9 win for East Lansing with his second interception of the night

Not only did Walker end the game, he also started it. On Holt's first drive of the game, Walker picked off Peterson and took it to the house to put East Lansing up 7-0. Despite the rough start, the Rams were able to bounce back with a field goal on the following drive to pull within a touchdown at 7-3.

Coming into Friday's game, the Rams defense had been stout as they only allowed 47 total points in conference play while the offense put up 130 points on CAAC Blue opponents. But the tables turned in this matchup with East Lansing.

Trojan quarterback Connor Charamella, who would later leave the game with a wrist injury, led his offense down the field and connected with standout receiver Blake Underwood with just under two minutes left in the half. With the score, East Lansing extended their lead to 14-3.

As the second half powered on, the laundry began to fly. The lack of discipline from the East Lansing side was on display for the entire stadium to see as the Trojans were penalized three plays in a row in on one drive. But nonetheless, the team fought through the yellow flags, allowed a score from Holt running back Jalen Steele, denied a two-point conversion attempt and got the game-winning interception that sealed their third straight win.

The win moves East Lansing into a second place tie with Holt in the CAAC Blue. The Trojans will take on Lansing Everett next week while Holt will look to rebound against Lansing Sexton.
