Michigan's home to new, vintage and used guitars, mandolins, ukeleles -- stringed instruments of every type -- Elderly Instruments is a Mecca to musicians of all descriptions. MSU's Bob Albers, himself a professional classical guitarist and College of Communication Arts and Sciences Senior Video Specialist, created the 2012 documentary "Elderly Instruments: All Things Strings." It's a personal and playful look into the people behind the Elderly magic.The documentary was recently released on DVD. Last Friday, the state released the results of the Michigan Educational Assessment Program, better known as the MEAP. The statewide tests were administered to Michigan students in grades 3-9 last fall for the final time, as the state will move to an online assessment, which is likely to be more aligned with the Common Core standards in the spring of 2015.
