East Lansing, MI – Michigan State University officials say football coach Mark Dantonio is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a heart attack. Dantonio was admitted to Sparrow hospital following the team's stunning overtime win against Notre Dame Saturday night.

Dr. Chris D'Haem with the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute at Sparrow says he inserted a stent into a blocked blood vessel to restore blood flow to Dantonio's heart. Dantonio is expected to remain in the hospital for a couple of days for observation.

MSU Athletics Director Mark Hollis called Dantonio "our head coach" at a press conference Sunday afternoon. Hollis says offensive coordinator Don Treadwell will handle Dantonio's day-to-day responsibilities during his recovery.
