Onto a short Thanksgiving week, "Current Sports with Al Martin" is grateful for the busy sports season. Coming up on a season-defining game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, the Detroit Lions are rolling with a win from the weekend. And yet, Al likes their chances at winning the NFC North less than he did the week before. A win may be a win, but the team also might have its seasonal position decided. Engineer Isaac Constans isn't convinced by the prognostication, though, and think the Lions still have a race to run for control of the NFC North. In East Lansing, MSU teams were quick to add on a few more wins to the bunch. Opening up the discussion, Al and production assistant Jon LeBlanc trace the season and prospects of men's soccer for the Spartans, who got a win over Virginia Tech and are onto the third round of the NCAA Tournament. What's next for the team, and why could this year be special? To conclude the rest of the show, former MSU men's basketball player Anthony Ianni joins Al to follow the two biggest Spartan teams. With eventful weekends for both football and basketball, Anthony sums up the state of the two programs. It's good news MSU fans, and more is delivered on "Weekend Winners."
