Current Sports | 4/28/16 | #691

NFL Mock Draft, Connor Cook, Michigan State Draft Prospects, Brooks Laimbeer, Little Caesars Arena, MLS Soccer, and Current Sports Production Assistants.

Some fire, flames, and tempers flare on today's Current Sports. Al and engineer Isaac Constans preview tonight's NFL draft, with their known differences over when Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook should be taken off the board. The debate ensues, in full force, with great vigor on either side. However, Al and Isaac find a common ground when discussing Michigan State offensive lineman Jack Conklin, the Detroit Lions' pick, and the questionable name of the Detroit Red Wings' new arena. Then, Brooks Laimbeer, scout for the Portland Timbers and Michigan State graduate, brings insights to the proposed MLS expansion team in Detroit, as well as summarizing what his job entails. Finally, it's a sad ending to Current Sports, as this semester's production assistants will be leaving us. Connor Hayes, Jason Ruff, and Brett Kast are on to talk about their experiences. Current Sports would also like to thank Mike Masson, Seth Kinker, Andrea Urban, and Connor Ryan for their contributions over the 2016 year.

Tomorrow's Current Sports will be a "Best Of Current Sports Special," as Al is out of town for the weekend.
