Crosby's goal wins it, Canada beats US 3-2

By AP

VANCOUVER, BC – Goalie Ryan Miller of East Lansing and the rest of Team USA aren't leaving Vancouver with the gold medal they'd hoped for in men's hockey.

They tied Canada with about 24 seconds left in regulation, but Sidney Crosby wristed a shot past Miller 7:40 into overtime, and Canada survived a tense game to beat the Americans 3-2 yesterday. It capped Canada's record gold rush in the Vancouver Games and set off a national celebration.

In one of the greatest games in Olympic history, Canada's collection of all-stars held off a young, desperate U.S. team that had beaten it a week earlier and staged a furious comeback to almost beat them again yesterday.

Miller graciously accepted the silver medal around his neck, but the disappointment was easy to read on his face.
