Clinton endorses Bernero and other Dems

By Laura Weber, Michigan Public Radio Network

DETROIT, MI – Former President Bill Clinton was in Michigan Sunday to support Democrats running in elections just over a week away. He started his brief tour of the state in Detroit to endorse candidate for governor Virg Bernero.

Clinton says he is not impressed with the 10-point plan he has seen from Bernero's opponent, Republican nominee Rick Snyder.

"You ought to read the other guy's plan," Clinton says. "It says I'm for God and apple pie and motherhood, and I hope you are too. Let me tell you something folks, in 12 years as governor and 8 years as president, and now in the foundation I run that works all over America and all over the world, I can tell you what matters. What matters is not what you're for but how you're going to do it."

Clinton also made stops in Ann Arbor and Battle Creek, to support Congressman John Dingell and Congressman Mark Schauer in their races.
