LANSING, MI – Lansing Police Chief Mark Ally is resigning. Alley is reportedly taking a job as the Senior Director of Risk Management at Emergent Bio Solutions. In a press release Tuesday, Alley says he sees the new job as a "wonderful opportunity" for him and his wife Cassie to start a new chapter in their lives. Alley has been with the city for 24 years. He was promoted to police chief in 2000. His last day on the job in Lansing is expected to be March 12. An interim chief is expected to be announced soon, while the city conducts a nationwide search to replace Alley.
