Brooklyn art pop duo Mahogany has Lansing roots

The Brooklyn-based duo Mahogany is in town to play for the Broad Art Museum’s First Anniversary celebration tonight.

Prinz is a Waverly High School graduate. A cellist, he was in the composition program at Michigan State University as a student.

Their music has been described as art pop, space rock, and even shoe gaze. They met in Philadelphia, and have been playing together for about three years.
