Broad Art Museum Exhibit To Include Portraits Of Locals
By Scott Pohl
German artist Jochen Gerz is producing a photographic exhibit for MSU’s new Broad Art Museum, and you can be part of it. It’s called “The Gift: Lansing, Michigan 2012.”
"You will be the keeper. You will be the guardian. You will be the museum guardian. You will be the museum for somebody else, and that is art." Artist Jochen Gerz
Photographers will take portraits of visitors for the display. When taken down, those who posed will receive a photo of one of the other participants.
Gerz says that portrait will be on loan from the museum.
You can pose for the exhibit today and tomorrow between noon and 3 p.m. each day, at the former Barnes and Noble bookstore in East Lansing.
More portraits will be taken during the Broad Museum grand opening festivities this weekend.
