April is all about Ken Burns

April is the month of Ken Burns. PBS will air a number of Ken Burns specials throughout the month. This will be a great way to reach WKAR's loyal, devoted audience, as well as helping to keep WKAR airing these great specials year after year.

Ken Burns, American Filmmaker known for his style of using archival footage and photographs in documentary films.

JAZZ - a chronological and thematic 10 part series provides the history of jazz emphasizing innovative composers and musicians throughout American History. Originally aired in 2001

This 10 episode series will start airing on Friday, April 1 at 9PM and air each Friday after that until May 20th. You can sponsor the series for $700.

JACKIE ROBINSON - tells the story of an American icon whose life-long battle for first class citizenship for all African Americans transcends even his remarkable athletic achievements.

The world premier of this documentary will be on April 11th and 12th from 9-11 PM. You can sponsor these two airings for $150

NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICA'S BEST IDEA - Features the United States parks system and traces the systems' history. This Emmy award winning show originally aired in 2009.

This 6 part series will air in its entirety from Monday, April 25th through Saturday, April 30th. You can sponsor all 6 of these airings for $500
