Earlier this month Gov. Snyder released a plan to increase recycling in the State of Michigan. At 15 percent, the state has one of the worst residential recycling rates in the nation.

Kerrin O'Brien is the executive director of The Michigan Recycling Coalition. She tells Current State that Michigan isn't providing enough access to convenient recycling opportunities. She also thinks that Michigan hasn't undertaken a vast education program to help people understand the economic and environmental value of recycling.
