Radio Station Manager

Peter Whorf is station manager for WKAR Radio. He also oversees the news division of WKAR Radio, and is host of What's New on WKAR.

Peter Whorf joined WKAR in August 2012.

Peter arrived at WKAR from Chicago, where he was program director and vice president of content at WFMT, the only commercial classical radio station in the country. He was previously with public stations WNYC/New York, KBIA/Mid-Missouri Public Media and WBEZ/Chicago. Peter Whorf graduated from Eastman School of Music, studying the violin.

Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Music Director Arie Lipsky joins WKAR radio station manager Peter Whorf to preview the A2SO's January 19th Mozart Birthday Bash.  Tune in for music and Mozart merriment, Tuesday, January 15th at noon on 90.5 Classical.

Michigan State University College of Music Dean James Forger is our guest host on WKAR 90.5 Classical on Wednesday, October 24 at 1:00PM. WKAR station manager Peter Whorf joins Dean Forger for 2 hours of his favorite music from Bach and Rachmaninoff to Joplin and Piazzola. We'll also hear the latest breaking music news from the recently opened Cook Recital Hall and upcoming College of Music faculty and ensemble performances.
