Brooke Allen

Producer and Host of Morning Edition

Brooke Allen served as local producer and host for Morning Edition, from June 2016-March 2018.

Before joining WKAR, Allen served as an anchor and reporter for WWJNewsradio 950 in Detroit. During her time at WWJ, Allen interviewed young offenders and their attorneys for Second Chance, a broadcast series that sought to provide those serving time an opportunity to turn their lives around.

Allen has also presented a number of stories and interviews, working with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD ), telling the tragic plight of victims of alcohol-related crashes, something that has also personally affected her family.

Before her stint at WWJ, Allen served as a news and traffic reporter at a number of stations in Michigan and California, including KFI, KOST and JILL-FM.

Allen studied theatre and communications at Eastern Michigan University, and is a graduate of the Academy of Radio and Television Broadcasting in Huntington Beach, California.

When not delivering the news, you can find Allen acting in professional and community theatres.
